Steps: Travel with pet to Thailand

(Dog, Cat, and Rabbit)

Step 1: Request an Import Permit by email

As of November 2020

Request an Import Permit by email to
Animal Quarantine Station (qsap_bkk@dld.go.th)

  • Apply within 60 days but not less than 7 days before departure date

  • Complete applicant’s and pet’s details form to request for an Import Permit including flight itinerary, owner's information and pet's info.

  • Email the applicant’s and pet’s details form along with a copy of owner's passport info page, pet’s picture, proof of required vaccinations to email above.

  • Dogs and cats must be 4 months or older.

Step 3: Bring the Import Permit package to a USDA accredited veterinarian for issuing

Official Health Certificate

Step 4

Submit Official Health Certificate to your local APHIS-VS Endorsement Offices for endorsement

Step 5

  1. Traveler passport (original)

  2. Pet passport or Vaccination Book (original)

  3. Official Health Certificate (original) with endorsement from USDA/APHIS

  4. Copy of Import Permit

  5. Certification of blood test for pets to test immunity against rabies (optional)

Step 6

Pet entry fees (in cash)

  • Department of Livestock Development (DLD) 500 Thai Baht

  • Thai Customs Department 1,000 - 2,000 Thai Baht
